Water, Water, Water. What do we need to know about water?
Sacramento has a new winter watering rule.  Yards can only be watered on Saturday or Sunday.
"...when daylight saving time ends – this year, that's this Sunday – watering will be allowed only
on Saturdays or Sundays. Odd-number addresses may water on Saturdays; even-numbered
addresses get Sundays." -SacBee

City Attorney Granted New Authority to Evict Drug and Violent Offenders
"Earlier this year Governor Schwarzenegger signed legislation that will allow the City of
Sacramento ’s City Attorney, along with the City Attorneys from four other cities, to evict tenants for
unlawful activities regarding firearms, ammunition, and controlled substances. Sacramento ’s
City Attorney already has the authority to evict gun offenders, which has been successfully used to
evict about ten gun law violators in the city.

Under this new law if a landlord, after thirty days from the City Attorney notice, refuses to evict a
tenant, the City Attorney will now be able to start the process to evict the offender.  This new public
safety tool will allow the City Attorney to work more effectively with the Sacramento Police
Department in removing drug dealers and gang members from the City’s neighborhoods. We all
know the impact of gangs, drugs and weapons in our neighborhoods, and this new authority will
enable the city to reduce the number of criminals who live here. " - Message from Ray Tretheway

Step up to the plate and make the call
In the past week there has been two car break ins/vandlisms in our neighborhood.  One on Chief
Court and another on Paddle Court. Also this month, a suspicious heavy-set woman,  with short
curly hair, has been going door to door claiming she lives on Paddle Court and that her son is at
daycare on Mather and is in need of gas money to pick him up. She is even willing to follow you to
the bank.

If you witness or see suspicious activity it is extremely important you notify the police.  The more
we stay in contact with the authorities, the more the police will parole our neighborhood to prevent
future activity.  Even though officers say  that our area is calm and has low crime activity, that does
not mean we are exempt from  future occurrences.

So, in a community effort, please report crime and any other sort of suspicious activity in our
neighborhood to the police.  You can make a police report online at
www.sacpd.org.  It is quick
and easy to make a report. Help keep are neighborhood safe.
