Great News for Natomas Residents:
Friends,

I wanted to share with you good news for Natomas residents that bought a flood insurance
policy prior to the maps changing.  FEMA has agreed to let homeowners that currently have
flood insurance at the Preferred Rate Policy rate (anyone enrolled in the National Flood
Insurance Program prior to the map change) extend that policy at the PRP price for one year
when their policy expires.  This will save thousands of homeowners hundreds of dollars next
year when their PRP flood insurance policy was set to expire.

Congresswoman Matsui wrote to FEMA last month seeking this extension, a press release
from Congresswoman Matsui is below. Insurance is still mandatory and FEMA's actions do not
apply to those that do not have flood insurance.

Please let me know if you have any questions.  We will get more
information out to you as it becomes available.
